About us

This initiative is an extract from ACTLAP African Showcase, a project of ACTLAP that promotes African cultural heritage and values. AFAMS is designed to create enabling environment for upcoming models and fashion designers to get exposed to the open market for recognition. This initiative involves auditioning upcoming models and fashion designers in Africa to compete for a price tag and the opportunity to earn a contract deal with ACTLAP partners.
Vision
Mission Statement:
Fashion & Style:
The phenomenon of beauty is beyond the eyes of the beholder. Beauty has gone beyond the normal outlook; it is not just the admiration of nature, but the protection of natural values and the enhancement of ideal characteristics of nature that is peculiar to individuals. The human body is a living organism that is characterized by growth, movement, flexibility, posture, and a few others. Therefore, we believe that fashion is the satisfaction of comfort as a way of life. The things we wear, the way we walk, how we appear before others and the way we use our environment are all basic factors of our fashion world. Your laughter and speech and awesome have a way of influencing your personality, so it is important to consider the style behind it. Styling is not such a big deal in our daily lives but it is certainly more of a lubricant that spices our day.
The AFAMS Event:
AFAMS is designed to create an enabling environment for upcoming models and fashion designers to get exposed to the open market for recognition. This initiative involves auditioning upcoming models and fashion designers in Africa to compete for a price tag and the opportunity to earn a contract deal with ACTLAP partners. From the basis, the search is done from various parts of Africa, and the best contestants will proceed to Canada, to compete with African counterparts in Canada during the ACTLAP African Showcase that is organized every four (4) years in Canada.
Another benefit that AFAMS has brought to young Africans is that it provides the right knowledge and skills that are required of a Model. During this program, our team of professionals from the field of fashion designing, modeling, cosmetology, hair styling, make-over and commerce engaged the contestants in a two-three week of training before the auditioning begins; this invariably makes the contestants ready for the market that awaits them.
